Had a lot of fun recently playing at one of the great jazz venues of Stroud, The Golden Fleece.
The Golden Fleece is something of a stand-out venue, being one of the oldest creative nodal points for the famously alternative Cotswold town. The new owners Ania Zydek and Rory Scott have obviously put a lot of love and care into continuing the tradition of this fine establishment.
It doesn't look exactly like this anymore, though. The little light on the corner has a different look to it nowadays, for instance.
However, it is one of the few venues that has managed to successfully hold on to and nurture the original atmosphere of 'your friendly local'. In this case the emphasis has been on the arts, so many nights of the week you can expect to go in and find different types of music, poetry and even small theatrical performances.
